What's a good test number for diabetes?

The American Diabetes Association recommends fasting and pre-meal blood sugars to be 70-130 mg/dl and 2 hours after the start of the meal < 180 mg/ dl, with an average 3 month blood sugar (hemoglobin A1c) < 7.0.

Tight control is not for everyone, so negotiate with your health care provider as to what your target blood sugars should be.
