Question

I'm a 62 year old male with type 2 diabetes. My diet is bad mainly because I work 5pm until 5am and sleep all day. It's virtually imposible to eat 4 or 5 small meals with that schedule. I work out 3 times a week but my A1c will not go under 7.2. Any sugestions?

John

Amy's Answer

John,
While you are awake, I would eat 3 meals per day , 25-35 grams of fiber per day and stay around 60 grams of carbs per meal, omit juices, fried foods and regular sodas and increase activity by walking 30 minutes/ 5 days per week. Try and eliminate snacking in between meals. This should help you meet your goals.
