what can i eat and what can i not eat

In general, try to stay away from pre-packaged foods, white flour items, and high-sugar and high-fat items. Veggies are always good. Be careful with fruit because of the natural sugars.
I suggest checking in with a nutritionist/dietician and/or a diabetes educator so they can tailor a meal plan based on your likes and dislikes and also based on the amount of carbs your doctor has recommended for you.
Good luck!
