FreeStyle Control Solution
FreeStyle Control Solution is a red liquid that allows you to perform quality control checks to ensure that your FreeStyle Blood Glucose Monitoring System is working properly and that your blood glucose results are reliable. Each Control Solution contains a known amount of glucose. If the control result is within an acceptable range, you know that your monitoring system is working properly.
It is recommended that you perform a control solution test:
- When you first get your meter, before doing a blood glucose test
- When you open and begin using a new vial of test strips
- When you suspect that your meter or test strips are not working properly
- When you think your test results are not accurate, or if your test results are not consistent with how you feel
- When your meter is dropped, damaged or exposed to liquids
- When your health care provider advises you to do so
